# Access to Fire burned area from 2001 to present derived from satellite observations restored!

On 10th July 2020, we announced that an error was detected in the Fire ESA-CCI MODIS version 5.1 November 2019 files, due to an incomplete active fires input file used for the processing of the burned area. As a result of this, access to the Fire burned area data (all versions) was disabled.

We are pleased to report that the dataset has been reprocessed and is **now available to download from the Climate Data Store as version 5.1.1cds:**

Version 5.1.1cds replaces version 5.1cds, which has been deprecated.
