Following the announcement in November 2025 of the release of CAMS global biomass burning emissions based on fire radiative power (GFAS) version 1.4.2 on the ECMWF Data Portal ([aux.ecmwf.int](http://aux.ecmwf.int); SFTP/FTP/HTTPS data access), we are pleased to announce that the data are now also available on the Atmosphere Data Store (ADS):

> **[CAMS global biomass burning emissions based on fire radiative power (GFAS)](https://ads.atmosphere.copernicus.eu/datasets/cams-global-fire-emissions-gfas?tab=overview)**
>
> Emissions of atmospheric pollutants from biomass burning and vegetation fires are key drivers of the evolution of atmospheric composition, with a high degree of spatial and temporal variability, and an accurate representation of them in models is...

The ADS entry will contain two GFAS versions:

- Version 1.2 which covers the period 2003-2025
- Version 1.4.2 which covers the period from 1 January 2026 onwards.

The two versions are not directly comparable, and users should be aware of this when using the data. Please refer to the [documentation](https://ads.atmosphere.copernicus.eu/datasets/cams-global-fire-emissions-gfas?tab=documentation) for more details.
