Same issue here. Both CDS and MARS are excruciatingly slow - which I find unacceptable for a paid subscription service (MARS). Weather forecasting is a civil service paid by our taxes and therefore all EURO data should be 100% free. NOAA data are not only free but in 20 years of usage, I’ve never experienced any delays/issues obtaining their files on NCEI (formerly NCDC). - which is very speedy and offers various simple battle tested means to users (such as FTP/wget Bash scripts/ etc) to retrieve the data in lieu of fancy, site specific Python-based APIs crippled with problems. I’d suggest Copernicus to take a careful look at the NOAA NCEI website and get inspiration from them as they are 20+ years ahead of the curve in terms of data sharing.
Same here (Bonn, Germany)
I can not log in to cds website. https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/
i get rerouted to [link-above]/api/auth/signin?error=OAuthSignin (see screenshot)
API requests dont work at all as well.
logging into ecmwf(dot)int works fine.
European weather cloud and data stores seem degraded - related?

Hi, I am also getting the same error and not able to access the data. Log in to ecmwf is fine. Logging in from CDS does not work. I used the service around 2 weeks ago and it was fine. Just wanted to report the issue.
Thanks,
Same as Adrian_Fulle on my side (Montpellier, FR).

Like many others I have found the new CDS very slow. In the few weeks since it was launched the service has slowed down with time. Yesterday it stopped working and the API sent me the following error:
Recovering from connection error [('Connection aborted.', RemoteDisconnected('Remote end closed connection without response'))]
Logging into the CDS does not work and like others I am rerouted to a keycloak page.
Any news on what is causing this and progress on fixing it?
I am in urgent need of wind and wave reanalysis data in the ocean. What should I do?
I have encountered numerous difficulties working with the CDS API over the past few weeks, including slowness, errors, and access issues.

Hi,
please have a look at the following announcement: CDS, ADS and EWDS down until further notice
Thanks
Is this still an active issue for people? I am attempting to retrieve some ERA5 hourly single levels data and feel that it is extremely slow. My requests return about 2 MB of data and take well over 30 minutes to complete.
I did a quick test and it seems that it does not matter what size of geographical area I request. It appears that a request returning 12 KB for 0.5x0.5 deg area vs a full graphical area request returning 304 MB both took 30 seconds to run.
To it appears that the system does not scale well across the time domain? If I request a 0.5x0.5deg area of 10 years it takes a massive amount of time to return.
I am also finding the use of the CDS API during the last months very frustrating. I expected problems would be solved with time. It is February now. It is barely useful. Downloads that took days in the past are taking months currently. I would really appreciate it if the ECMWF/CDS managers took the solution of this problem seriously.
Hi all, Are there new issues this week? I have had two really slow days of data only been able to download two queries (one year of a single variable in ERA5 for one coordinate location). The rest of my requests were cancelled /failed. Just hoping to get an update or visibility on when this might speed up again? Thanks
Is there anything I can do as a user to adjust my queries to ERA5 and make them easier/faster for the server to run? (Although I realize I spend most of my time in the queue, if we all adjusted our queries…)
