Are the carbonaceous aerosols anthropogenic and biomass burning?

I am trying to determine if the carbonaceous aerosols are a mixture of anthropogenic and biomass.

In the reanalysis, there are hydrophobic and hydrophilic organic matter and black carbon.

Can you explain the emissions sources and processing of these please?

In terms of primary emissions of the carbonaceous particles, I assume there are anthropogenic emissions coming from MACCITY and biomass burning emissions coming from GFAS. Is this true?

Is there also a secondary source of these emissions, coming from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)?

Or primary emissions emitted into the hydrophobic mode, and age into the hydrophilic mode? And are secondary carbonaceous aerosols directly partitioned into the hydrophilic mode?
