CDS ERA5 download take more than 24 hours

Is this a global problem, or am I the only one experiencing delays of more than 24 hours for even small pieces of ERA5 data? Since last week, when the issue was supposedly resolved, the waiting times have become even longer—now approximately 30 hours. The queue currently has around 10,000 items. I download ERA5 every day and I never had this problem for a such a long time.

Is anyone else facing a similar issue, or could I be doing something wrong? Could there be something slowing down the process? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Same issue here with dataset “ERA5 hourly data on pressure levels from 1940 to present”.

My download times this week varied between 20min and 18 hours :frowning: compared to a few minutes in the old API. I hope that the team is still working on this to improve speeds…?

In last 3 weeks I didn’t see minutes - only hours (or days). All my download tasks took seconds before that…

I think there was a large backlog of requests after the API was restored and so for several days requests were taking many hours to clear. The times appear to have gone down to normal in the past 2 days (on my side at least). However, today again my requests are failing to go through at all.

@ECMWF team the Status page shows green so it’s unclear what’s going on. Could we get an update if there are API problems so I don’t waste time investigating non-existent issues in our ETL code?

Actually, the download times haven’t been normal for me since the migration to the new api … :frowning:

I am having the same problem. Just today, I have waited nearly 8 hours for not one single file to download.

The same goes here. it took 6 to 8 hours just to get one dataset request
