I’ve been reviewing the documentation for the Seasonal Forecast of Fire Danger Indices from the Copernicus Emergency Management Service, but I haven’t been able to find an explanation for why the most recent data (updated monthly at Seasonal forecast of fire danger indices from the Copernicus Emergency Management Service) is consistently one month behind.
For example, the ECMWF February Seasonal Forecast lists January as the first forecast month.
Could you please clarify whether this one‑month offset is due to a systematic delay in data availability, a characteristic of the seasonal forecast production cycle, or related to the underlying data assimilation system?
Thank you for your assistance.
