We are using ECMWF ENS Forecast parameter ‘pev’ - potential evaporation.
There is no clarification in the supporting documentation as to whether this flux includes vegetation-based transpiration.
We compare PEV to observed potential evapotranspiration and find ECMWF ENS PEV to extremely low in comparison.
Is someone able to confirm, one way or another, if PEV includes transpiration. This may account for the differences we have observed.
