Coming to ECMWF Dissemination for a fee: ERA5T and CAMS greenhouse gases

We are working on adding two new datasets to the ECMWF real-time catalogue and to dissemination via ECPDS for a fee. We expect these to become available from early Q4 2026.

ERA5T (class=ea, expver=0005): the preliminary, near-real-time version of the ERA5 reanalysis. The plan is to offer the same parameter set as on the Climate Data Store (single levels, pressure levels and model levels), starting with hourly data and adding monthly data later. The existing five-day embargo will apply at launch, and the model name in the file-naming convention will be ifs-era5t.

CAMS greenhouse gas forecasts (class=gg): the CAMS global greenhouse gas forecast (IFS-GHG) currently served from the Atmosphere Data Store. This runs one 5-day forecast per day from the 00 UTC analysis, on surface, pressure and model levels, a few days behind real time. Moving it into dissemination gives a far more robust delivery path than the current arrangement.

Both datasets will use the standard ECMWF or WMO file-naming templates, LEGACY will not be offered for them.

The same lists of parameters from the documentation of CAMS global greenhouse gas forecasts and for ERA5 will be available in the ECMWF real-time catalogue.

We will announce the publication and confirm the schedules and resolutions on the Product Requirements Catalogue (PRC) as soon as they are settled. So watch the forum announcements!
