Just focusing on wind fields in southern ocean, I wanted to compare ERA5 10m wind seasonal climatologies in the area from 1979 to 2021 with ERA5 climatologies from 1950 to 1978. I was wondering if the difference between climatologies I can see may somehow be due to difference between the 2 reanalysis systems. For example I read that ERA5 from 1950-1978 needs to be corrected from tropical cyclones estimates, but are there any known bias between the two datasets in terms of wind field?
