We have detected suspicious and abusive activity originating from certain public domains and are implementing additional measures across all ECMWF Data Stores (CDS, ADS, EWDS and ECDS) to protect the integrity and sustainability of our services.
To support these efforts, we have strengthened our monitoring and detection capabilities to more effectively identify activity that may not comply with our usage policies. Users whose activity is flagged as potentially non-compliant may have their access temporarily suspended while it is reviewed. These measures are intended to ensure fair and equitable access for all users while safeguarding shared system resources
We apologise for any inconvenience these measures may cause to users who are using the services responsibly.
To help avoid disruptions, we ask users to:
- Ensure that your user profile information is accurate and up to date (for example, your country of residence).
- Register using a trusted institutional or corporate email address whenever possible.
- Submit only valid requests. Repeated submission of invalid requests may result in your account being disabled. Ensure that request syntax matches that supported by the dataset download form.
- Submit requests sequentially, rather than in parallel or in large batches.
- Use the CDS API service for programmatic data downloads.
Users requesting the reactivation of a disabled account may be asked to provide additional information before a decision is made by the Data Stores Service Administrators.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a reliable and fair service for the entire user community.
