Download speed: Custom grid vs default grid

Hi,

The CDS API allows us to download ERA5 hourly data on single levels for both fixed grid geometry (0.25° x 0.25°) and custom grid points (interpolated).

I would like to understand whether the download speed (from API request to queue placement to final download) is faster for fixed grid geometry compared to custom grid points, given that the latter requires interpolation at the server level before data retrieval/download.

Alternatively, does the use of a custom grid have no impact on the request and download time, assuming the same data points are requested in both cases?

Thank you.

Kind regards.
