With the implementation of IFS Cycle 50r2 (currently scheduled for Q1 2027), use of the LEGACY filenaming convention for IFS real-time products delivery via the ECMWF Production Data Store (ECPDS) will be discontinued.
We advise that you review how this change will affect your activities and plan accordingly.

In May, we announced the discontinuation of the LEGACY filenaming convention for IFS real-time products.
This message is to make you aware that LEGACYfile-naming convention will be phased out in Q2 2027 with the implementation of IFS Cycle 50r2.
If any of your feeds still use it, you need to move them to the ECMWF template (the default) or the WMO template before then.
LEGACY is supported for IFS products (class=od) only. It is not supported for AIFS (class=ai) or IFS-COMPO / CAMS (class=mc) products, and it will not be supported for any of the new datasets coming soon.
Please review how this affects your ingestion, archiving and monitoring workflows, and plan your switch well before your deadline, it is far less stressful to change convention on a quiet day of your choosing than on ours.
