Issue Summary: Unexpected 12-Hour Intervals in ERA5 GRIB Format Instead of Hourly Data

When retrieving hourly data on ‘total_precipitation’ from the ERA5 dataset using the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS) API in GRIB format, the data appears at 12-hour intervals (06:00 and 18:00) instead of the expected hourly intervals (00:00 to 23:00). However, when downloading the same data in NetCDF format, the data shows up correctly at hourly intervals.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

this variable comes from the ‘forecast’ output of ERA5, started at 06:00 and 18:00 each day; see Table 0 of:ERA5: data documentation - Copernicus Knowledge Base - ECMWF Confluence Wiki
