ERA5 hourly snow depth data

Dear all,

I used data from ERA5 to plot the hourly snow depth at 116.50 E and 37.25 N (Figure 1). I noticed that the daily variation of hourly snow depth from ERA5 was large and regular. However, compared with hourly precipitation and hourly snow depth from ground observations, and ERA5-LAND snow depth (Figure 2), the daily variation of hourly snow depth from ERA5 is not reasonable.
What could explains the daily variation of hourly snow depth in ERA5?

Many Thanks

I am curious if you have found an answer for this. I am noticing the same thing wherein ERA5 snow depth seems to have spurious jumps in the data at 00UTC every day and then sometimes around 10 UTC. Maybe a data assimilation issue?
