ERA5 - Land Hourly Data - Forecast Surface Roughness

Downloaded (manually) last year data set on parameter “forecast surface roughness” (to model historic wind generation for various loation and different wind turbine types). Wanted to do the same again, but cannot find the above mentioned parameter “forecast surface roughness” anymore.

Is it “gone” or has it been ranemd or shifted (to API-only)?

Hello Ryan, I know this is an ERA5 single levels parameters, but I can’t find in it in the CDS for ERA5 Land… last year, did you download it from Copernicus Climate Data Store | Copernicus Climate Data Store? BR Rémi

Also: in ERA5 the values are incorrect, see item 18 iin ERA5: data documentation - Copernicus Knowledge Base - ECMWF Confluence Wiki.

  • Yes, as far as I remember (the requests are not visible anymore in the “Your requests section”) it was from CDS for ERA5 land.
  • Thx for the hint regarding the issues with the parameter.
    Still, if anyone knows where the parameter is left, pls let me know :slight_smile:
