It has been a couple of weeks since I asked for an update regarding this dataset:
But I haven’t had a response.
This makes it difficult to plan and use these products in a variety of downstream applications related to the changing world and its impacts on biodiversity and climate.
According to previous posts it is in internal ECMWF review, any update on that review, the process or when the public would be able to access, or assist in this review of the new data would be greatly appreciated!
Additionally, the integration of this and other datasets into Google Earth Engine’s Data Catalog would be appreciated, but is by no means critical.

Apologies for the delay.
I appreciate the timeline uncertainty makes it difficult to plan.
The data, and the associated documentation (PUGS, PQAR and ATBD) are indeed in review. From this point to publication on the CDS, it’s usually 3 months. Hopefully summer won’t slow it down, but it’s possible if the reviewers and data providers are on leave at different times, etc.
If it would be helpful, I’m happy add comments to this post to keep you updated on the progress of its publication.
Regarding the integration into Google Earth Engine’s Data Catalog, I will ask about it internally.

Thank you for your previous update on the release of the 2023–2025 C3S Land Cover datasets.
In your July response, you mentioned that the review and publication process would typically take around three months. As it is now October, I was wondering if there have been any further updates.
Could you please let us know what stage the review process has currently reached, whether there are any remaining steps before publication, and approximately how much longer it might take for the datasets to become publicly available through the Climate Data Store (CDS)?
These datasets would be very valuable for my ongoing research, so any updates on their progress or expected release timeline would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your enquiry.
The documentation (PUGS, PQAR and ATBD) are still in the review process. They have undergone an initial review from external reviewers, and are back with the data providers for adjustments. The reviewers will then recheck the documentation, and if appropriate, recommend it to the project’s Technical Officer for approval. It is possible that at this stage the Technical Officer will request some further adjustments, which makes it difficult to give an estimated time frame - but we hope to have it available within the next month.
Please be assured that we are aware of the high interest in this data, and are working to make it available as soon as possible.
