Hourly SST for Mediterranean?

Hello,

I was wondering whether there are any plans to provide hourly sea surface temperature (SST) data for the Mediterranean in the near future.

At the moment, some hourly datasets are available, but they are based on skin SST, which is too sensitive for my application. I am instead looking for a more bulk-representative SST, better suited for analyzing upper-ocean thermal processes.

For instance, on the Copernicus Marine Service there is an hourly Level 4 satellite SST product with excellent spatial resolution (~6 km). However:

  • the temporal coverage is quite limited (only about the last 5 years), and

  • the associated uncertainties remain relatively large

Given these constraints, I was wondering if there are any plans for a longer-term, lower-noise hourly SST product for the Mediterranean, ideally more representative of bulk conditions.
