We are pleased to announce that the Terrestrial Water Storage Anomaly data from 2002 to present derived from satellite gravimetry observations dataset has been published on the Climate Data Store (CDS) on 07-04-2026.
Key features of the new dataset include:
- Global Terrestrial Water Storage Anomaly dataset (0.5° grid): Provides terrestrial water storage anomalies representing deviations from long-term averages across soil moisture, groundwater, surface water, snow, and ice.
- Supports hydrological and climate analyses: Useful for studying droughts, floods, regional hydrology, and glacier mass changes.
- User-friendly Level-3 product: Includes anomaly values (mm equivalent water height), standard deviation, and filter flags, optimized for easy use across applications.
For more details on the processing chain and methodology, please have a look at the documentation.
Users can download the data via the webform or using the CDS API.
