New Jupyter notebooks available in the Copernicus Interactive Climate Atlas (C3S Atlas) User Tools of the :

We are pleased to announce that 5 new Jupyter notebooks are available for the C3S Atlas User Tools.

The User Tools have been developed to enhance transparency and facilitate the reusability of the software developed to produce the C3S Atlas Dataset and the visual products displayed in the C3S Atlas Application.

The new notebooks include two for the “Reproducibility of the C3S Atlas dataset” section, one for the “Reproducibility of the C3S Atlas visual products” section and two for the new “C3S Atlas training materials” section, as follows:

  1. Monthly mean of daily accumulated Potential EvapoTranspiration (PET, 1.5. Monthly mean of daily accumulated potential evapotranspiration — C3S Atlas jupyter-book ), which demonstrates the computation of PET for the C3S Atlas dataset and viewer.

  2. Monthly Standardised Precipitation-Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) for 6 months cumulation period ( 1.6. Monthly Standardised Precipitation-Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) for 6 months cumulation period — C3S Atlas jupyter-book ), which demonstrates the computation of the SPEI index for the C3S Atlas dataset and viewer.

  3. Urban heat island analysis for Paris using the C3S Atlas/CORDEX data ( 2.7. Urban Heat Island analysis for Paris using C3S Atlas/CORDEX data — C3S Atlas jupyter-book ), which reproduces the Urban Climate product available in the C3S Atlas viewer.

  4. Tutorial on climate stripes ( 3.1. Tutorial on climate stripes — C3S Atlas jupyter-book ), which shows how to compute, plot and interpret climate stripes as used in the C3S Atlas viewer.

  5. Tutorial on regional precipitation projections and their uncertainty ( 3.2. Tutorial on regional precipitation projections and their uncertainty — C3S Atlas jupyter-book ), which shows how to compute uncertainty and robustness information for the precipitation climate projections as used for the C3S Atlas viewer.
