Unable to download data with a reasonable time

Hello,

I have noticed that using the API for downloading ERA5 single levels hourly is very inconsistent. It either takes 5-20 seconds or up to 4 hours for the same files. Can anyone help me with how I can improve this download process? Anyone have code to handle, e.g. failure or any other bugs? Any help is very much appreciated, as I need to download data twice for 156k points.

Hi Fred,

I would take a look at this thread here: Bad performance in data download. It may be that your data is sometimes getting stuck in the queue, as is the case for a lot of others. As far as I’m aware, there isn’t any way to get around it at the moment :frowning:
