Upgrade (U4) to the CAMS European air quality forecasts

We would like to inform you that the latest upgrade (U4) to the CAMS European air quality forecasts model has been implemented.
The main features introduced in the upgrade include:
1)Implementation of CAMS-REG emission including condensable PM (REF2) based on the reference year 2017.

2)Deletion and replacement of PM2.5 elemental carbon species.
The following parameters have been deleted:
Particulate matter d < 2.5 µm - anthropogenic fossil fuel carbon only
Particulate matter d < 2.5 µm - anthropogenic wood burning carbon only
The following two species have been added as replacements:
Particulate matter d < 2.5 µm - anthropogenic total carbon only
Particulate matter d < 2.5 µm - anthropogenic residential carbon only

3) Addition of Mugwort pollen for surface NRT forecasts.
The new source term consists of the addition in one parameter of 5 different Mugwort pollens, which cannot be clearly differentiated by observations.
