WGSIP Webinar Series on Data-Driven Modelling for Subseasonal to Interdecadal Predictions

All, please see below an invitation to join WGSIP webinar.

Dear all,

We are pleased to invite you to the first webinar in the new WGSIP Webinar Series on Data-Driven Modelling for Subseasonal to Interdecadal Predictions. This initial webinar will explore updates and applications of ACE2 (AI² Climate Emulator version 2).

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are opening up new possibilities in climate forecasting by extending it beyond short-term weather to S2I timescales. Hosted by the Working Group on Subseasonal to Interdecadal Predictions (WGSIP), this webinar series provides a space where researchers can share advances, discuss challenges and explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing data-driven climate prediction.

Webinar 1 Topic: Deep Dive into ACE2 (AI² Climate Emulator version 2)

:date: Date & Time: Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 15:00 UTC
:laptop: Platform: Zoom (link upon registration)
:one_o_clock: Duration: 1 hour

  • Speakers: Oliver Watt-Meyer (Ai2) and Chris Kent (UK Met Office)

  • Host: Stephanie Johnson (ECMWF)

:link: Register here

We encourage you to join us for this kick-off session to learn about ACE2, engage in discussion with leading experts, and connect with the growing community of researchers working at the interface of AI, ML, and S2I climate prediction.

Feel free to share it with groups and people who might be interested!

Kind regards,
Sara

On behalf of the Working Group on Subseasonal to Interdecadal Predictions (WGSIP)
