What is Data Assimilation in ERA5 over Greenland (1940 to present)?

I am investigating ERA5’s capability to simulate temperature and precipitation over the Greenland Ice Sheet from 1940 to the present. A key question for my methodology is: which observational datasets has ERA5 assimilated in this region during this period?

Specifically, I would like to know if ERA5 includes data from:

  1. DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) stations
  2. PROMICE (Programme for Monitoring of Ice and Climate in Eurasia) stations
  3. Greenland ice core records

Any insights into ERA5’s assimilation of polar observations—particularly regarding station networks and proxy data like ice cores—would be greatly appreciated. References to relevant documentation or studies are also welcome.
