Hello everyone,
Can you please help me with the slope orientation definition? I found ERA5: What is the spatial reference and Model orography with explanation about coordinate system, interpolation, modelling the surface orography, but i didn’t find the information about ERA5 hourly data on single levels from 1940 to present variable called Angle of sub-gridscale orography. Its’ definition is: The angle of the sub-grid scale orography characterises the geographical orientation of the terrain in the horizontal plane (from a bird’s-eye view) relative to an eastwards axis. This means that 0° is east, and 90°is north? And what about degrees’ interval: is it [0,360] or do we have negative angles like we heva negative longitudes [-180, 180]?
Thanks in advance,
Diana
